Bus Transit Facility

 When the Granite School District decided to build a new state of the art bus transit facility, they decided the security system would also be state of the art. The facility would house all maintenance shops as well as a gas facility, bus wash and over 200 buses. Perimeter security and easy efficient access in and out of the facility was a main concern.
In 1996 Automated installed a complete outdoor perimeter photo beam system protecting over 4,500 feet of linear perimeter. The buses are equipped with vehicle proximity access tags. As a bus approaches the perimeter gate, the system senses the bus, identifies the bus and automatically opens the gate. At the same time the perimeter protection is shunted so alarms will not occur during a valid entry or exit. The system is controlled and monitor from a remote computer located at the Granite Police Dispatch Center. Truly state of the art.
